The owners have closed the attraction on 4th September and days later began demolishing The Cyclone, a historic roller coaster built by Charles Page which has been on the site since 1937.  The demolition work was stopped after protests by local groups,  but on Monday November 20th, a large demolition machine arrived on site and they have proceeded to tear down the structure.   On 28th November, the 'Sea Curve', the part which has been a local landmark for many years was destroyed.
